Name : Shakeena Maria Croes
Address : Oranjestad, Aruba
Birth date : December 23, 1995
Birthplace : Aruba
Nationality : Dutch
Education : M.A.V.O (High school Aruba); In the process of completing GED. Pending to do
Science in October, 2014 and then she will be done with the GED.
Shakeena began playing baseball at the age of 6. She switched to softball in 2002. She went to play with Happy Kids and afterwards with the Lady Tigers under the coaching of Mr. Minguel Tromp. She couldn’t play any tournament yet because she had to be 9 and there weren’t any tournament for girls her age back then.
Since that time up to now Shakeena has been playing softball. She started with tennis lessons and music lessons in between but ended up concentrating on softball as that is her favorite sport.
She has been approached by the coach of Argentine to play softball in their tournament with the Argentine’s national team against payment but since she is preparing for the GED, as she is interested in going to college and playing softball in the states, she had to decline that opportunity.
The position she plays is mostly 3rd base but she can also play Short stop, 2nd base and a bit of 1st base. She has also played as right fielder. Shakeena’s at bats mostly end up with Shakeena on base. She is also a very fast runner. She has the capability and the mental discipline to take her game to the next level. The time is right for her now.
Her training for softball is as follows:
GYM 4 to 5 times a week under professional supervision
